Whole Chicken

Serves: 4-5 servings   •   Time: 35 minutes


1 small whole chicken
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tsp paprika
1 Tsp dried thyme
1 Tsp mixed herbs
½ Tsp salt
¼ Tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp lemon juice
3 Tsp garlic (minced)
1 ½ cups chicken broth


  1. In a small bowl, combine the paprika, salt, thyme, mixed herbs and pepper. Rub the seasoning over the outside of the chicken
  2. On the pressure cooker control panel, turn the menu knob to the “Fry” function and press start
  3. Add in the oil until shimmering and then place the chicken in the pot, breast side down. Cook for 6-7 minutes
  4. Flip the chicken over and then add in the broth, lemon juice and garlic
  5. Cancel the “Fry” function and then place the lid on the pressure cooker
  6. Turn the menu knob until you reach the “Meat” function
  7. Press the “Texture” button until you reach the “Strong” setting (this will default to 20 minutes)
  8. Press start to begin cooking. Music will sound and the cooker will start the countdown once the optimum pressure has been reached inside
  9. When the timer ends, cooker will beep and will switch to the “Keep Warm” function automatically. Press the cancel button
  10. Press the pressure release button on the top of the lid and then open the lid
  11. Remove the chicken and let stand for 5 minutes before carving
  12. Enjoy!

When I select the strong texture it defaults to 45 mins and not 20mins.

The same thing happened with me? The setting went to 45 minutes instead of 20 minutes. Should we then use the medium texture setting for 20 mins?

I selected standard (20min) and it came out perfect.

You can adjust the time. So put it on strong and reduce the time with the –
