Bobotie pies

Serves: 5 • Time: 30 min

Method:

  1. Use the DIY setting to turn on and heat the Midea InstaFry pot.
  2. Heat olive oil and fry onion and garlic
  3. Add curry powder, salt, fruit chutney, dried fruits, worcestershire sauce, ground coriander, oregano, ground cumin and dried thyme and mix well.
  4. Add mince and mix everything well.
  5. Soak the bread in milk until fully absorbed and add to the pot along with the raisins.
  6. Put the pressure cooking lid and pressure cook on low for 4 minutes.
  7. Quick release the pressure valve.
  8. Roll pastry dough and cut into desired shapes.(remember to use flour so it doesn’t stick to surfaces.)
  9. Add Bobotie filling to the pastry. Use a basting brush to apply egg wash in between pastry to ensure it doesn’t fall apart.
  10. Use a basting brush to apply egg wash on the entire outer surface of the pies.
  11. Put the pies in the Instafry pot, put on your air fry lid and air fry for 15 minutes.
  12. Serve and enjoy.
