InstaChef
Chocolate Cake
Serves: 4 - 8 • Time: 60 min

Ingredients:
- 195g self raising flour
- 200g castor sugar
- 20g cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 75g unsalted butter
- 200ml warm water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
Method:
- Melt the butter in the microwave and let it cool slightly
- Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl
- Add the vanilla essence and lemon juice to the warm water and then mix this into the dry ingredients
- Add the melted butter and combine to mix all the ingredients (be careful not to overbeat the mixture)
- Grease a cake tin with some butter and pour the mixture into the tin (this tin must fit inside the Midea InstaChef pot. If you do not have a tin that will fit then use a non-stick cooking spray to coat the inner pot and pour the mixture directly into the pot)
- Place the metal trivet (wire stand) into the Midea InstaChef and place your cake tin on top of it
- Place the lid onto the Midea InstaChef
- Turn the menu knob until you reach the “Cake” function (this will default to 45 minutes)
- Press start to begin cooking. Music will sound and the Midea InstaChef will start the countdown once the optimum pressure has been reached inside
- When the timer ends, the Midea InstaChef will beep and will switch to the “Keep Warm” function automatically. Press the cancel button
- Release the pressure by holding the pressure release button on the top of the lid and then open the lid
- Take the cake tin out of the Midea InstaChef and then carefully remove the cake from the tin
- Ice cake with your favourite icing
- Enjoy!
